Photos from this past spring

Alright, so here are those old pictures I promised. This first set is of when my little sister (though, not so young anymore), Sharon, came out to visit us this past spring. I think it was in April... Sharon, do you remember? We went into the city and had ourselves a blast... don't think I ever spend much time in the city until someone comes out to visit. :) I remember Sharon loved seeing that circular building behind us and to the left because it was on an album cover or something.

Yeah, just some city girls out on the town. This next one is Sharon with her buddies from school who came out for a fun adventure of their own.

Okay, and this last set of photos (I seriously need to take more photos... and actually get them developed) were taken in May... little did we know that we were already pregnant with our second child (I know that may sound odd, and I don't talk like that with most people, but I think I'll always count that first baby among my children). I think I was three weeks along, so the baby was only about a week old in my womb. We found out we were pregnant the day after we arrived home from the trip.

My family were all getting together to travel together to our cousin's wedding in Kansas, but before we left we spent a week together in Omaha. This was my nephew, Aidan's, first visit to Omaha, so it was very exciting. Here I am holding my little godson.

Isn't he sweet? Okay, I can't resist putting another photo of us together...

And this last photo is of my sisters and I (with Aidan, of course) at the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha. Aidan seemed to have a blast. This picture is definitely not my best, but at least my sisters look good in it. :)

Starting up this blog thing...

Hello and welcome to our first blog! Since I just started this blog, I thought it would be fun to scan some of my old pictures and share them with you all. I'm hoping to join the digital age soon so that I can update the photos more efficiently... but until then, I'll just work with what I've got. :)

These first images are of our little baby, which we got today. As I am 17 weeks along, we were hoping to get a sneak peak at the sex, but our baby wasn't the most cooperative. He/she had its legs mostly crossed, but, as the doctor moved the thingy around to the 'rear' area, it appeared that (by default) the baby was a girl! This is still speculative and we'll get a better ultrasound in three weeks (so don't buy any girl outfits yet, grandparents), but we were a little surprised. Both Christian and I were feeling like it would be a boy (and we thought our first child -whom we will meet in heaven- was a girl), so I guess we'll see. I'd be thrilled either way, but it would be fun to bring the first grand-daughter to my parents.

Okay so you can see our baby's head and spine there... it's amazing how big 'she' is already, especially since the majority of people don't think I'm showing yet (though, I would beg to differ :). The books/websites say 'she' is about 5 inches long now. And 'her' heartbeat was in the 140's today.

So this is another picture of 'her.' You can see how 'she' has her legs up near 'her' belly... wow, still can't believe how big 'she' is.
