Random Pics and a Note about his Name

And now, some random cute pictures of William Archer...

Oh, and a note about Will's name. I know we were thinking "Archer Gabriel" for the longest time, but in the last week or so before he was born we, obviously, changed our mind. I realized that I loved the name Gabriel so much that I would prefer to wait and see if we could use it as a first name at another time. In thinking about another name, I brought up William, as it is my father's name and I really liked the idea of honoring him that way. So, I was suggesting Archer William, but Christian lovingly said we should go with William Archer instead. It was a wonderful gift, and we're very happy with the name he ended up with. "William" means strong warrior and "Archer" is well, obviously, a bowman. We just liked the sound of Archer... and the fact that it was original, and suggested someone who loves nature and is adventurous.

William, our cutie

So many pictures, so little time. :) We've really been enjoying Will ... it's hard not to, as he's such an adorable little guy. And, as long as I avoid eating onions (which will actually be a bit difficult for me), he's quite mild mannered. Thankfully, he's managed to get his days and nights figured out, and for 2 or 3 nights, he's actually slept through the night with only one or two times to feed in between. One night he actually slept for 7 hours straight! I woke him up cuz I was worried that he wasn't supposed to do that yet. He makes up for it, though :). During the afternoon, he hasn't been taking many naps and will feed almost constantly (from noon till 8pm). He'll give me a 5-20 minute break every hour or so, but then he comes back for more. :)

Well, that's pretty much the update... all baby news for me. Now, here's some pictures.

This is when Will was 6 days old. We had to take him to the pediatrician's office, so I got to get 'dressed up' for the event. Believe me, I don't normally look like this these days.

I know, it's quite blurry, but ... c'est la vie.

My mom and dad came out to visit the first weekend we were back home and here are a couple pictures of them with their newest grandchild (#2).

And now, here's some pictures of father and son...

This is Christian editing the first novel he wrote (exciting!).

And holding him next to the mirror... don't think he recognizes himself yet.

And, of course, any son of ours is going to be a Huskers fan (no matter where we live:). Thank you Aunt Kathy for this wonderful outfit!
