The Waiting Game

Contractions continue to come and the baby remains inside. ... :) Many mothers have told me that when they had a lot of contractions with a particular pregnancy earlier on, the labor/deliveries went a lot faster. So, I guess that's the upside of being a bit more uncomfortable now. I also think this is God's way of making us more excited to have the baby out. I never quite appreciated before what women meant when they talked about how hard it was to wait in the last month. I suppose I know a bit of that now. :) Also, another nice thing is that I don't have to sit down every time a contraction comes along- now, I keep moving to see if I can get things going a little faster.

So, in the meantime, I've had some time to work on the baby room, and I thought I'd share some of the pics of it. I love walking by and seeing it all prepared and all. :)

The room is maybe not as perfectly matched as I would generally prefer, but I think it ended up coming together nicely. I love the colors (especially the black and red) and I love how they work with the yellow walls. It's hard to tell from the photo, but the twin blanket is actually brown, not black like the crib, and we have a chair sitting at the end of the twin bed which will eventually be switched out with the new recliner we got. (there will also be a changing table in there eventually... but, don't worry, there's plenty of room outside the photo area)

:) Oh, and I realize you shouldn't have pillows in the crib when the child is young... it's just there for aesthetic purposes right now.

And here is a photo from our visit with Kathy and Jeff a couple weeks ago. :) Kathy and Jeff graciously invited us to a "Hitt Family Party" on New Year's Day... fabulous food and wonderful company.

Never mind

For those of you who may have noticed that I wanted to move our blog this past week... well, I got more into the new site and realized it was a bit of a pain, ... so, here we are again. :) So, just never mind that other posting (which I have now erased).
